FLOATY BIRTHDAY WISHES

I'm just beginning to get to grips with embossing plates on my BigShot after working out which tabs to use or not to use to get it to work property and I think I've cracked it!

For this card I used an embossing plate that I bought from QVC so I have no idea who actually makes it.  I used some pearlescent cardstock as the base for it which catches the light beautifully.  I then used a Spellbinders die on some glittered patterned card to get my little butterflies.

The sentiment is one from PTI's Mega Mixed Messages.  Again a really simple card that took no time to make up - I seem to be in such a rush these days!

I have to say it looks a lot better in the flesh - I am not taking particularly good pictures lately so sorry they are not great.

Take care

SUPER QUICK FRIDAY

I have to say I'm so glad its Friday!  Been a mad week at work and at home and today is my day off - hurray!  Animals all been fed, dog has had his walk, food shop done, house is tidy (ish!) so ready for some ME time now!

I've been making good use of my new stamp sets recently and here is another one.  The background has been stamped with some of PTI's Flutterby Friends set in white (to act as a shadow) with blue over the top and the sentiment is again from Big and Bold Wishes.  A bit of ribbon and it was finished - took me all of 5 minutes to make - perfect!

Unfortunately the picture is not the best so apologies for that.  Hopefully you can see the 'shadow' a bit better in this one.

Clean, simple and quick - just the way I like it!

Have a a great weekend!

LOTS OF LAUGHS

Hi everyone, hope you're enjoying your Sunday - I'm just looking forward to lunch personally - lovely bit of roast beef and yorkies! YUM!

More craft fairs coming up for me in the next few months so I am making a start on some new stuff.  Here I've used some Berry Sorbet cardstock as my base and then mounted Fine Linen to some black cardstock.  I've stamped the pattern using Wreath for all Seasons from PTI in two colours, Berry Sorbet and Snow White ink. The sentiment is from Big & Bold Wishes, just repeated with one in Berry Sorbet.  I mounted the sentiment section on foam pads and added the ribbon and it was done.  Really quick card.

Off to make a start on dinner followed by some more crafting!  I LOVE Sundays, plenty of time to play!

Hugs to all

ALL FROM SCRAPS

Today's card is made up using various items from my 'scraps' draw - a bit of left over ribbon and patterned paper.

I used a scrap of blue cardstock and mounted to the front of a blank white card.  I stamped the top half in brown ink (SU) and versamark and then trimmed a bit of patterned paper & brown cardstock.  I have a paper trimmer that has different decorative blades and this was used here. I added the ribbon and fixed to the card  front.  I punched the butterfly from a tiny scrap of glittered card using a spellbinder die and fixed with foam pads.  Waste not, want not!

Have a a good one.

WISH BIG

Hi All

Hope you're having a great day!

I made up a card for a birthday and wanted to use some of my new stash of PTI cardstock and stamps. I love this new colour from them. It's called Fine Linen.  The patterned paper is from their range called Everyday Blessings and I have lots of it because blue is one of my favourtite colours.

I punched the Fine Linen cardstock with a Martha Stewart punch and I used matching ribbon around it.  The sentiment is from their Big & Bold Wishes set.

I used a couple of rhine stone embellishments on the ribbon and along the bottom edge of the card for balance with some flowers to finish it off.

CAGED

Hi All

Blimey I'm on a roll! this is my second post of the day!

I was so excited when I finished this that I had to share it straight away!  Hubby is out playing golf so I have the morning to myself - needless to say my craft room was calling me and as Easter is fast approaching, I spent this very lazy Sunday morning making a little bird cage.

How Super Cute is this!

When I saw the template for this I just had to have a go myself - I thought it was adorable and I am really pleased with how it turned out.  It did take a while to cut out all the components but the putting together was pretty quick.

I wrapped ribbon around the top of the cage and just added a button to the centre.

I used PTI's Fine Linen cardstock for the cage and then punched out a load of leaves on my Spellbinder and hand cut some branches and starting playing around on where to put them.

The top is separate to the base so that you can add what you want inside it.

My little ducks kindly provided the contents for me this morning!

I found the template on Lauren Meaders Site and it can be purchased for $5.00.  Its well worth it!

Have a great day all!
Hugs

JUST FOR YOU HUBBY

My hubby is such a sweetie and lets me spend all my spare time making things in my little craft room when I should be getting on with the ironing!  So I made up a card to tell him how much I love him.

For Christmas he ordered a bucket load of stuff from PTI  for me to play with so I am putting all this lovely new stuff to good use here - everything I've used is from PTI - with the exception of the edge punch which is from Fiskars.

All this gear has been sitting on my shelves staring at me for months now but I've not really had the time to sit down and play.  I have been working full on with my friends wedding stationery and its not left with me much time for anything else.  Just the odd card here and there.  The invites are virtually ready go out now so I can relax a bit for a while before I get started again on the Order of Service, menu's, table plans etc.  I will share all my bits with you once the day is over as I know some of the guests take a look at my blog - hardly seems right for them to see it all before it arrives in the post to them does it!

Anyway, that's it from me.  But I must just say a quick HELLO to JEAN if you've stopped by - you know who you are you star lady!

A DIFFERENT VIEW

Whenever you buy packs of patterned paper there are always few that don't really float your boat. I can never part with them though (I'm a terrible hoarder). If the pattern is not symmetric then can you usually chop it about and find a bit that works for you.

For this card I had a sheet of patterned paper, which as a whole pattern I didn't like too much so I tried cutting a section of it out and too me that looked much better so that was my starting point.

I mounted it onto the brown cardstock and them threaded the button with some organza ribbon and wrapped around my mount.  Once attached, I just needed to stamp the sentiment and it was done.  Brown and Blue, another favourite colour combination and BIG buttons, another goodie for me.  Really quick card.  Because the ribbon is organza it fits neatly in an envelope without over padding it and making the envelope difficult to close so no need for a box this time.
