MAGNOLIA MAGIC

I have just started playing with these little stamps and I LOVE THEM! They are dead cute and as I am trying to get more into my Copic techniques, they are good practice for me.

I’ve added a little glitter to her top and on the edge of some of the flowers and a ribbon buckle. For my first attempt at this style of card and my new Magnolia stamps, I am really pleased with the outcome.

I also made a box for this and stamped the pattern using some Martha Stewart images.

STAR MAN

Hi all, hope you’ve had a good day. I’ve been decorating hubby’s office as we’ve just had a good clear out in there and it badly needed a lick of fresh paint to give it face lift. Its looking good!

I’m finished now thankfully but wanted to post something before I flop into my bed.

Short and very sweet today - I'm pooped.

CUTE IN PINK

Another notepad, this time using an image from The Greeting Farm.  So cute.  The patterned paper and the butterfly flocked button are both by Anna Griffin and the pink cardstock is Sweet Blush from PTI.

These are so easy to make and I use and sell loads of them!  I am making a matching card for this, again for the craft fair I am doing  in August this year.

Take care guys

THIS WAS HARD BUT I DID IT!

There so many fabulous papers out there in some gorgeous colours.  I buy loads of stuff and then when it arrives, it's so nice I don't want to use it!  I have to force myself - whats the point of just looking at?  Well sadly for me I love paper and can thumb through bundles of the stuff cooing ooh and aah at it all day long but then pop it back on the shelf for another day.

I loved the colour combinations on this patterned paper from American Crafts so had to use just a little bit of it, although I did break out in a sweat cutting it up!

I made up an A6 card using kraft cardstock and mounted a piece of the patterned paper to it.  I stamped the image onto textured white cardstock and mounted on to black.  Placed a simple strip of black cardstock along the base and tied some ribbon around.  Popped on some buttons and it was done.  Phew - panic over and actually turned out well so maybe I should push myself a bit more to use all this lovely stuff I have stowed away occasionally!

Please tell me I'm not the only one with this
stupid hang-up!?!

I need a lie down now after that.  Enjoy your day.

TIME FOR A PICK ME UP I THINK!

Hi all.  Another Anna Griffin creation today.  I bought a bunch of stuff recently from QVC (mostly from Anna) and I adore her stuff. All of the items used to put this card together are from her range with the exception of the sentiment which was PTI (my other favourite company for goodies!)

A good friend has been really poorly the last week and I wanted to let her know I've been thinking about her.   Pink being her favorite colour that's where I started.  The felt flowers are gorgeous and add real texture to it.  The gems just give it a bit of sparkle and glamour, let her know she's special.

Accompanied by a large box of choc's this went down very well indeed!  She is feeling a lot better now and has even shared the choc's with me - my kind of girl!

THAT'S LOVE

Very quick one today.  I am flat out working on bits for a craft fair.  I sometimes wonder why I put myself through it but its always worth all of the effort - so far at least anyway!

For this card I matted some Anna Griffin paper to the base of my card. Punched out a circle of cardstock  and adhered a heart shaped velvet topped button to it then mounted this on to a scalloped punched white cardstock.  I punched a fancy border strip using a Martha Stewart border punch and stamped with a PTI sentiment.  I finished if off with a thin strip of double sided tape and sprinkled with some co-ordinating coloured glitter.  All done and very quick indeed to put together.

Thanks so much for taking the time out of your day to pop over and see what I've been creating.

Catch you soon.

SWEET AS CAN BE

Toay's offering is 'sweet'.  I've used white textured card stock along with Spring Rain and Sweet Blush cardstock then stamped the image onto the cardstock and then again onto some polka dot patterned paper.  I then layered the base of the cupcake and the leaves over the top of the main image. I used Martha Stewart glitter to add a touch of sparkle to it.  I stamped the large polka dot pattern onto the blue cardstock, added the sentiment, a pretty button and a some little gems.  These colours just remind me of icecream and sorbet, yummy!

All items used are PTI except white cardstock base and gems.

I need an icecream now.  Off down the shop to find something delicous to munch on!

Come back soon.

FRAME IT

The inspiration for this card was whilst I was punching out some Spellbinder Labels for another card.  I'd just used a scrap of card for punching them out and found myself left with the above strip.  I took a fresh piece of card and lined the punch up properly then rolled it through my BigShot three times to get the frames.

I cut some purple cardstock slighty larger than the green and mounted onto my card.    I then lined up the green cardstock and stamped the designs and sentiment on to purple card.  I popped a load of foam pads to the back of the green cardstock, tied a bit of ribbon around one of the frames and attached a pretty glass button to it with some twine, then I just mounted this onto the purple cardstock to make it pop of the card.  I think it worked out OK?!

Hope you're having a crafty day.

TAKE NOTE

Recently I've been preparing some items for a craft fair I am doing in August and I started with some note pads and matching cards.

I love making these because I am definitely a LIST person.  From selling these in the past, most people where buying for someone else as well as themselves so I thought I'd try making matching greeting cards to go with them to make them a bit more of a gift item.  I am working on some matching pencil cases to go with these too and will share once I get them done.

For this one I used Berry Sorbet cardstock (one of my favorite colours - love this!)  and Dot Spot stamps with sentiment, button and ribbon all PTI.

This set is using Ocean Tides cardstock  Year of Flowers - Violets and Turning a New Leaf  (All PTI) along with glitter from Martha Stewart range.

This is using Spring Rain cardstock with ribbon and sentiment - all PTI.  Stamps used here were by Hero Arts (I think!) - this is one of my sets now stored in my stamp folders but unfortunately I threw away the packaging so can't remember who they are from!

And finally .... for now at least!

I used patterned cardstock for this one with a little ribbon and a sentiment by Personal Impressions.

That's all for now.  Hope you're having a fabulous day.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

PEEK-A-BOO

Sometimes my mind just goes blank and find I have no imagination at all when it comes to making up a card.  When this happens I look to others for some inspiration to get me back on track and this is the case with today's card.

I thought this idea was just brilliant and was something a bit different.

I just used several sized circle punches to make the holes to the front of the cards and them stamped designs on the inside so that they could be seen through the holes from the front.  I then added a simple sentiment  and stamped small circles in various shades of the background colour to the front.  I placed some double sided tape to the top of the card and ruffled my ribbon, sticking it in place as I when along.

I also came across a great site called Mojo Monday - some of you have probably already heard of this but I never had.  They have a great card sketch for you to try each week and now that I've found it, inspiration has been restored!  I will be working on some of these and will share with you when done.

If you would like to check them out, their site is here... http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/

Hope you have a great day.

I LOVE A BARGAIN

I always used to spend a small fortune on flower embellishments and then stopped buying them because they were so expensive if you wanted good quality ones.  I was out shopping at the garden centre one day I saw a display of artificial flowers and one of them had a stem with loads of flowers on it, all multi layered.  I suddenly thought, that one stem would cost me £2.80 but I could get loads of flowers from it.  I bought a bunch of them and then when I got home, pulled all the flowers off the stem and separated the flower layers out.  I ended up with nearly 100 flowers from each stem that I bought so all told, hundreds of them in different sizes... brilliant and a great bargain.  This card is made using two different types of these flowers from those stems.

I used Berry Sorbet card stock for the base of the card.  I stamped with this a leaf design and punched a white piece and attached it to the base.  Stamped my sentiment and them wrapped some twine around the white section and tied in a bow.

I selected two black flowers and a two smaller red flowers and fixed with a pretty little brad to the card.  I am really pleased with this and it cost virtually nothing to make.

I bought a stem of white flowers which are great on their own, but if you want them a certain colour you can always rub your ink pad over them to match your card stock or stamp a design over them to make them patterned.  Possibilities are endless.

RECIPE: Card stock, leaf stamp, sentiment and twine - all PTI.  Flowers - my own little bargain buy!

Have a great day.

ONE OF A KIND

A couple of cards today that I cased from others whose designs I just loved.  Both were really simple to put together but give a lovely effect.

For the butterfly card, I used my favorite colour combination, orange and blue (sorry if you're bored seeing these colours by now but I can't help myself!)

For these two, I used all PTI stuff except for the white roses which I had.  I think these are my favourites.  I love the colour combinations and simple but elegant layout of them.

Because of the raised elements on these cards, an envelope would be useless so I made some card boxes for these and decorated them in matching colours.

Thanks for stopping by.

SWEET PEA

I have just had a delivery for my latest order of PTI goodies and I had to use it straight away!  I have been waiting since the end of last year for more releases to come out to make it worth my while ordering and then went mad!

I have loads to play around with now so I started with the sweet pea stamp from the Baby Button collection.  I stamped the image on the card stock and a second image on a spare piece of card.  Cut this piece out and mounted with foam pads on top of the first image.  I took a vellum tag and stamped my sentiment on to it.

I mounted a strip of PTI patterned paper on the base section of the card and wrapped some pretty white ribbon around it.  Finally just threaded the tag with PTI twine and attached to the ribbon, then placed some buttons inside the stamped image.
